Robin Peirce wins Woodcote, but Liberal Democrat group on SODC reduced in number

Winning against the trend in South Oxfordshire, Robin Peirce is back on the council after four years, regaining the Woodcote seat which he held for many years until 2003.
Liberal Democrats campaigned hard across the district, but four of our hard-working local councillors were defeated by the Tories: John Stimson (Sandford), Roger Bell and Sarah Gray (Wheatley) and Ann Tomline (Garsington).
Re-elected were Councillors Susan Cooper (Benson), David Turner (Chalgrove), Ann Purse (Forest Hill & Holton), John Nowell-Smith (Great Milton) and David Bretherton (Thame North).
The Liberal Democrats are the main opposition on SODC and will continue to work hard to challenge the Conservative administration.
