Soaring fuel bills are hitting local residents says Stephen Kearney
Rising petrol prices, utility, council tax and food bills are hitting local residents hard. Lib Dem campaigner Stephen Kearney is calling for action to help those worst affected by the price rises.
Mr Kearney said, "The cost of basic items like eggs and butter have gone up by a third in just a year.
"The size of these price rises is hurting everyone, but especially those on lower and fixed incomes. The pension and wage increases people receive don't come close to covering the rising costs.
"We need action from the Government now to improve pensions and tackle economic problems."
Rising costs and the poor state of the economy are just two of the reasons for Gordon Brown's massive unpopularity.
Labour's 10p tax hike on lower paid workers and pensioners has proved to be the final straw for many.
Stephen Kearney said, "Labour have lost the plot. We need fresh ideas and a real change in Britain."
