Stephen Keraney said, "Parish and town councils are doing a fantastic job trying to provide adequate facilities for our young people but without support from the Conservatives at County Hall, it is an uphill struggle."
Young people in South Oxfordshire and surrounding villages are being badly let down by the Conservative run County Council. A damning independent report has slammed the County's provision for 14-19 years olds, describing provision as 'inadequate'.
The report into the County's Childrens' services also highlighted poor GCSE results, lack of provision for over 16s with learning difficulties and disabilities, and poor career guidance.
"Sadly the findings of this report will come as no surprise to local people," said Lib Dem Campaigner Stephen Kearney.
"In 2005 the Conservatives promised us better exam results and more facilities for young people. What we see instead are slipping standards and a Conservative administration that is determined to oppose Liberal Democrat attempts to improve youth facilities at every turn.
"Time and again local residents have identified youth provision as a major need, yet the Conservatives at County Hall refuse to listen."
