"I am really sorry that the County Council is not going to provide the long promised cycle track from the A4074 to St Helens Avenue. A contribution to funding for this was given to Oxfordshire County Council several years ago when permission was granted for the business units at Preston Crowmarsh. But we have had nothing but procrastination.
"And why is it that Oxfordshire County Council can spend vast sums on expensive consultants to provide poorly thought out schemes such as the badly placed island in the A4074 near the end of Benson Lane, Crowmarsh while saying that they have no money for basic maintenance?
"As Benson Parish Council said, the new traffic island constituted "an accident waiting to happen." And we didn't have long to wait. But we do have to wait to have our potholes filled. And trying to get a small stretch of paving to link the new bus stop by the marina to the new gate onto the Thames Path or providing some bike racks by the bus stop is quite out of the question! No wonder the County Council, run so arrogantly by the Tories, is losing stars.
"The Tories talk about combating climate change, encouraging more public transport and cycling, but only the Lib Dems would deliver it."
