Nick Clegg returned to his Oxfordshire roots this week, when he joined Lib Dem Stephen Kearney on the campaign trail in the Henley by-election. It is the fifth visit from Mr Clegg who was brought up in Chinnor and whose parents still live here.

Mr Clegg was flanked by former Leaders Ming Campbell and Paddy Ashdown. Stephen Kearney said:

"I am tremendously proud to receive such support from Nick and our distinguished

former leaders. I am determined to keep Thame and the whole area special and it was a delight to chat to local people once again."
