Oxford County Council underfunding local Youth Services

9.30.27am BST (GMT +0100) Sat 21st Jun 2008

Stephen Kearney has received huge support from local people with his calls for better youth services here in Sonning Common and Rotherfield Peppard.

Despite Sonning Common youth centre and the recent improvements to local play equipment. Stephen is still being told, very strongly, that Sonning Common and the surrounding area has a lack of appropriate youth services. This is a key concern when people talk about anti-social behaviour.

Stephen Kearney said:

"This is a travesty. Local organisations like the Sonning Common Parish Council are working so hard to secure better facilities for our young people. Yet the local Conservative councils are refusing to fund any locally run services."
