Phone Box removed from Thornhill Park and Ride

5.45.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 21st Jun 2008

Local residents have told the Lib Dem team how concerned they are that the public telephone box has been removed from Thornhill Park and Ride during its recent renovations.

Campaigner Stephen Kearney explained:

"This phone box was regularly used by residents getting off the Airline bus and the Oxford Tube.

"Not everyone has a mobile phone to use in such situations. We are lucky to have 24 hour links to London and the airports. But this makes it doubly important that visitors to Thornhill have telephone access at all times. Having a public phone box at the Park and Ride would make sure that residents can always contact their loved ones."
